Learning goes beyond the classroom in the Cardinal Café Class!
Students have been discovering what it takes to keep a store running smoothly. Today, they practiced restocking the vending machine while continuing to learn how to organize products, clean the store, and care for the space. They will also occasionally help prepare items for school events.

Our Red Bird 7U basketball team wrapped up a fun season this morning in the first game of the end-of-season tournament, falling to the Wildcats, 6–0.
We are proud of our young Red Birds! A big thank you to Coach Adams for encouraging our players and making this a great experience for them.
Our first graders became young engineers in the STEM Lab as they designed and built their own robots with Legos! 🤖 Through this hands-on activity, students used creativity and critical thinking to bring their ideas to life. The future of innovation is already taking shape at SMIS!

During Earth Science Lab, 6th grade students explored Earth’s four spheres and developed models showing how they interact. Schedule Alert: There is a partial lunar eclipse Thursday (8/27) night into Friday (8/28) morning. In order to respect SMIS families and staff members who follow Navajo traditional values with eclipses, SMIS will have a delayed start on Friday, August 28, at 9:00 AM. Labs will start at their normal time of 9:25 AM, and there will be no Mass.
