High school Navajo Government students recently had the meaningful opportunity to observe a public meeting of the Navajo Nation St. Michael Chapter, where chapter officials, community members, and leaders gathered to discuss important topics related to Title 26 of the Navajo Nation Code. This title outlines the framework for local governance within the Navajo Nation, giving chapters the authority to engage in community planning, manage resources, and participate in decision‑making that directly impacts local families.

During the session, the students were warmly welcomed by Delegate Brenda Jesus, the St. Michael Chapter representative. Delegate Jesus took a moment to acknowledge their presence, encouraging them to continue exploring leadership pathways and to stay active in understanding how tribal government functions. Her message highlighted the value of young people becoming familiar with local processes and recognizing their potential role in shaping the future of the Navajo Nation.
We are proud of these students for taking the initiative to learn beyond the classroom. Their participation reflects a growing interest in leadership, governance, and community involvement, and we look forward to seeing how experiences like this continue to inspire the next generation of Navajo leaders.
